Idea pulsing behind this shop is charity, towards Balkanian stray dogs, mostly those more unfortunate, living on streets of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. 100% profits from this shop are aimed at helping the volunteers on the ground, providing shelter, food, neutering and all the veterinary services. Unfortunately after the civil wars in ex Yugoslavia, the situation plummeted horrendously and between the general poverty, government disinterest, everything is placed on the shoulder of the individuals who care. I can't call them volunteers, they're really much much more then that, a true empathic, caring beings.

No harsh pictures in it I promise.
I know how that feels.
Shoutout to Mirjana, Mina, Neda, Ivana and many many more who take care about stray dogs and cats.
I write about them also in the newsletter with all the news about prints, deals and design stuff coming to the shop, so click to that subscribe button!
About me.
The Good Machinery studio is Desanka Ilic. I create contemporary design/art objects through plastic combination of everyday kitsch, faux ugliness and sentimentalism. I strive for artisanal experimentation and deep commitment to meticulous quality. I find poetry in the discarded, and allow the material to guide me. Rather then following trends, I work and create through my own mysticism and fuckery.
The Asphalt series (first of the jewellery collections created) started in summer 2013. Before that it was Strange Planet Animals and after, after, the Drama Ceramics.
I’ve always had an intense love affair with color. It started in childhood in my grandmother’s kitchen, where she collected discarded pieces of wool in a credenza. The scraps were discarded by the shops for their “ugly” colors, but they were cheap and that’s what she could afford. Each of the cardigans, blankets and shawls she made from them were amazing works of art. She combined ideas and colors that seemingly wouldn’t get along; it was both intimidating and dreamy. My main purpose with my work is to simply reuse this idea of non ugliness of objects and propose it within the contemporary twist.
